Actor

Yves Amyot has been based in Montreal since 2006, after beginning his career in Quebec City.

He graduated from the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Québec in 1992. On television, he has appeared in several series, including STAT, Les beaux malaises, Marche à l’ombre, Yamaska and La Job. He also played Yves, the father, in La Trappe.

In theatre, he has performed in nearly fifty productions. Many of the productions he has appeared in have received awards over the years. In 2006, he won the Théâtre du Trident Subscribers’ Award for his portrayal of the title role in Le Libertin by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt. He has also appeared in productions such as Ha ha!… by Réjean Ducharme, Le roi se meurt by Ionesco, and Elizabeth roi d’Angleterre at Théâtre du Nouveau Monde.

His film credits include several productions, among them La face cachée de la lune by Robert Lepage.

Writing

As a writer, he joined the team of Et Dieu créa... Laflaque in 2013, which later became ICI Laflaque. He also co-wrote all five seasons of Tranches de vie. For the stage, he notably wrote L’Intrus, a comedy that has been produced many times in Quebec since its premiere.

Voice and home studio

He also works as a voice-over actor, having specialized in Voice and Microphone at the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Montréal. He works from his own studio for clients at home and abroad. To hear more samples, visit the Voice Demos page or the Voice-over Services section.

Video production

As a director, he worked primarily on corporate videos.

He also creates animated explainer videos for businesses.

Training

He also founded the Académie Voix Off Home Studio, an online training program designed to help people who want to work independently as professionals set up their own voice-over home studio at low cost, even if they know absolutely nothing about the technical side, and then guide them step by step along the way.
